Don't Judge A Book By Its Cover

Don't judge the book by it's cover,
You open the cover and read the book.

You never know the daily life.
You look deeper than the surface.
You may be missing a person with depth and love.

The people that judge others are not looking deep
Within themselves.
What would they find if they did look deep?
Would they be scared of what they found?

Those that judge others are missing out.
A book judged by it's cover is over-looked.
A person that is judged is also over-looked.
The deep layers of a person is what matters most.

The love, the friendship, the family.
All that is over-looked.
What if you were judged by your lifestyle?
Wouldn't you be hurt if someone judged you upon first meeting?

The book should not be judged by it's cover.
The book should be read.

A Stay-At-Home mother is often judged.
They are tagged with the label of
Someone with no ambition.
Other lifestyles should also not be labeled.

America, land of the free,
Is not tolerant of lifestyles.
Single mothers, grandparents with custody,
Two people that love each other.

All are judged upon first meeting.
A person wearing a NASCAR shirt
Is often judged as a red-neck.
Judge not lest ye be judged.

Do not judge the book by it's cover,
For you never know what you will miss.
A book is like a person
Individual and unique.

The over-looked, the judged, the mis-understood,
Are often craving a friend.
Crave for love,
Starved for affection.

Do not judge this book by it's cover,
For you know not what you miss!
